Job Summary

Roseberry Road Studios CIC is seeking a proactive, well-organised Facilities and Events Manager to ensure our gallery, creative studios, and music and events venue remain safe, welcoming, and well-maintained. The postholder will manage day-to-day building operations including maintenance, deliveries, security, cleaning, and health & safety compliance.

Working closely with the CEO, Exhibitions Manager and wider team, the Facilities and Events Manager will support the smooth running of the building and help ensure our events and activities are delivered to a high professional standard.

Salary: £27,700 FTE (actual salary £16,253)
Hours: 22 hours per week, on-site. Some evening and weekend work required.
Location: Roseberry Road Studios, 25–28 Roseberry Road, Bath, BA2 3DX

                 

Key Responsibilities

Operations & Facilities Management

Oversee the overall management of Roseberry Road Studios’ building and facilities.

Coordinate cleaning, maintenance, utilities and supply ordering to ensure smooth, cost-effective operations.

Act as the main contact for tenants, resolving facilities-related queries promptly.

Manage supplier and contractor relationships (e.g., waste, cleaning, maintenance, security) and review performance against value-for-money criteria.

Oversee the relationship with our external IT provider, ensuring organisational needs are met and monitored for value.

Lead on improvements to the site including signage, sustainability initiatives, and access.

Support the CEO with monitoring operational and utilities budgets, identifying cost savings and service improvements.

Carry out keyholder responsibilities including opening/closing the building, managing alarms and access control.

Ensure bar, gallery, and event spaces are appropriately set up for a range of activities.

Working with the CEO on Fire safety checks (alarm tests, extinguishers, evacuation procedures)

                

Site Maintenance

Plan, schedule and manage routine, preventative, and emergency maintenance.

Conduct regular inspections of plant, equipment, and facilities; record findings and address issues proactively.

Carry out minor repairs and general maintenance tasks; arrange and oversee external contractors as required.

Coordinate garden and outdoor area maintenance to ensure a welcoming appearance year-round.

Liaise with cleaners on standards and requirements; occasional cleaning duties when required (e.g. hoovering, mopping, loading the dishwasher) will be part of the role.

Manage deliveries and venue stock, including ensuring drinks fridges and basic supplies are maintained. This may involve regular trips to the nearest cash and carry.

Assist the Senior Management Team with ad-hoc operational admin, including room bookings and occasional support for marketing content.

                 

Project Management & Creative Support

Work with the Senior Management Team to deliver small-scale building projects such as storage solutions or layout improvements.

Support the Exhibitions Manager with exhibition installation and creative project logistics.

Lead on accessibility and security-related projects including CCTV installation or bike rack provision.

Coordinate waste, recycling and environmental standards to maintain an eco-friendly operation.

                 

Person Specification

Essential Skills & Experience

Experience in general maintenance within a public-facing site.

Proven ability to schedule and respond to building maintenance needs.

Experience supervising contractors and ensuring high-quality service delivery.

Strong understanding of Health & Safety regulations for public spaces.

Familiarity with COSHH regulations and their practical application.

Ability to lift and move heavy objects safely.

Strong organisational, planning, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work independently, take initiative, and remain calm under pressure.

Good communication skills (verbal and written) and strong relationship management abilities.

Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.

Positive, professional approach; reliable, punctual, proactive, and adaptable.

Experience in venue coordination, building operations, or similar roles.

Driving licence, access to a car, ideally living within 5-10 miles of the venue. This is because you may need to respond to alarms and transport items locally.

Ability to attend weekly Monday morning team meetings (in person or virtually).

An interest in arts and music.
