Join Anu for an afternoon of creative block printing in our upstairs light and airy gallery.

*No experience necessary to learn the art of block-printing!
Adults, children or carer/child combos welcome.
Suitable from 8yrs upwards.
Learn how to print on fabric and paper with Indian hand-carved wooden blocks in a variety of designs including: animals, plants, leaves, traditional Indian and contemporary blocks.
Workshop participants will spend an hour learning basic technique for random and repeat printing as well as practice making your own designs using a variety of non-toxic, water-based fabric paints.
Participants will then choose 2 cotton fabric blanks to print and take home or give away as presents, including: tea towels, cloth dinner napkins, tote bags, cushion covers, fabric drawstring gift bags or zipped pencil/cosmetic bags. If there’s time left over, you can print your own greeting cards and/or bookmarks. Teens can also choose to print a cotton tank top available in a variety of colours and sizes.Your printed items will be heat-set at the workshop then can be washed as normal at home.
*Your instructor is Indian-American-British journalist, lecturer and block-print teacher Anu Anand. Anu has lived and worked in India and is now based in Bath.When not working as a journalist and lecturer, she loves sharing the joy of block printing with others.
