Schools Outreach

In 2026 we started our schools outreach programme, using hands-on learning to build children’s confidence, curiosity and engagement with art. In Summer 2026, our art workshops reached 100 children aged 6–10 across three local schools. Feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with teachers highlighting engagement and increased creative skills in a safe environment. Children experimented with materials and discovered they could create artwork they were proud of, challenging preconceptions about artistic ability. The programme continues this autumn with another two schools attending our sessions.

Bath Spa University partnership

The partnership between Bath School of Art, Film and Media at Bath Spa University and Roseberry Road Studios was the first of it’s kind for the university and strengthens the relationship between arts education, professional creative practice and the wider community. It supports students in developing practical experience and professional networks through engagement with creative practitioners, artist-run spaces and the wider cultural sector, while promoting creativity, sustainability and inclusion.

Through the partnership, students have opportunities to take part in collaborative projects, live briefs, workshops, exhibitions, screenings, filming, internships and curatorial activities. Roseberry Road Studios provides access to its gallery, studio and event spaces, while Bath Spa University contributes academic expertise, student participation and sector connections. The collaboration creates a valuable bridge between university study and professional practice, enabling students to gain first-hand experience of the creative industries and engage directly with the local arts community.

Charity discount on venue hire

We offer not for profit organisations an automatic 50% discount on all space bookings. So far we have hosted Share & Repair, Dorothy House, We Are Avon, 3SG Fundraising Network, Bath Arts Collective All Cycle Bath & West, Bath Community Kitchen, Twerton & Whiteway Community Network, Bath Riverline, The National Trust Community cafes and other small not for profit organisations. We regularly host residents meetings for our neighbours Spring Wharf and have provided free community meeting space.

Fundraising

Roseberry Road Studios also uses its exhibition programme to connect audiences with relevant environmental, social and international charitable causes. At many exhibitions, the organisation identifies a charity or community organisation whose work relates to the theme of the exhibition and provides an opportunity for visitors to support that cause.

For example, the Tree exhibition supported More Trees for B&NES, reflecting the exhibition’s environmental themes. The Cuba exhibition raised funds for a small Cuban organisation providing basic resources to local people, while The Fragility of Life exhibition supported a Peruvian charity working with women. These activities provide an additional opportunity for audiences to learn about issues explored through the exhibitions and to engage with organisations working to address them. The fundraising is undertaken as part of our wider programme of public engagement and education through the arts.

Supporting emerging music promoters and grassroots live music

The closure of Moles in 2023 created a significant gap in Bath’s live music infrastructure, particularly for emerging promoters and artists looking for opportunities to develop their skills in a small-scale but professional environment. Through its live music programme, Roseberry Road Studios helps address this gap by providing an accessible venue for emerging acts and promoters to gain practical experience, build audiences and develop their professional practice.

Roseberry offers discounted hire rates to emerging promoters, helping to reduce the financial barriers to putting on live events and creating opportunities for new talent to establish themselves within Bath’s music scene. The programme provides a supportive stepping stone between informal or grassroots activity and larger professional venues, contributing to the development of a more sustainable and diverse local live music ecosystem. We host Voles, a student run live music night plus host the Bath Spa open mic night and music events with Emerge.

Affordable ethos

Where possible our art exhibitions will always be free to enter and we ensure ticket prices for our music events and workshops remain as affordable as possible. In 2026 we hosted a free Party In The City event providing the venue for local teenage bands to play live for the first time.

Memberships

We are active members of the Twerton and Whiteway Community Network, Bath Arts Collective, 3SG and VASW. We will be taking part in Independent Venues Week 2027.
