Join us on 6th March for An Evening with Nicolette featuring a Q&A and live performance of two new album tracks.
Nicolette burst onto the music scene in 1990 with Shut Up and Dance, when their debut single School of the World / Single Minded People became an instant classic. A run of iconic club records followed, leading to her acclaimed first album 'Now Is Early' in 1992. Soon after, Massive Attack invited her into their studio, resulting in Nicolette co writing and singing on 'Sly' and 'Three' from the platinum selling 'Protection' album.
By 1995 she had signed to Gilles Peterson’s Talkin Loud label and released 'No Government'. The album 'Let No one Live Rent Free In Your Head' landed in 1996 and was widely praised as a masterpiece, blending soul, electronics and political edge, while its singles lit up dancefloors through a series of standout remixes. Alongside this, Nicolette collaborated with forward thinking artists including Plaid, released a DJ Kicks mix on Studio K7 and began DJing internationally, a passion she continues today.
In 1999, Nicolette founded her own imprint Early Records. Her third album 'Life Loves Us' arrived in 2005, followed by a fresh run of releases including a celebrated re release of No Government with new remixes on Great Stuff Records. She has since appeared on DJ Cam’s album Love and featured on multiple projects, including releases on Real World Records.
Now, with a career defined by independence, innovation and influence, Nicolette returns with her fourth solo album 'The Infinitive', due for release in 2026 on her own label Early Records.
The evening will feature Nicolette in conversation with Jonathan Wright, followed by a live performance of two new tracks by Nicolette and then a DJ set from Severine.
